Guest none Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Just installed IBM's bluetooth stack on a laptop. Was sooo glad! Started to do the traditional 'cleanup' of an install and found the 'My Bluetooth Places' icon on the desktop will not allow me to delete it. Tweakui does not show it on the 'desktop' tab for icons. I figure it must be a registry entry that needs removing but not sure. Can anyone help with some info. on how to delete this thing? Thanks Happy Bluetooth User (except for desktop icon)
Guest Alan Edwards Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Re: undeletable desktop icon? It may be a NameSpace item. If so remove it from the Registry using Regedit. It should appear under the key: (along with the Recycle Bin, Inbox etc.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace It is good practice to export any key before deletion in case of error. Don't delete this one. It is the Recycle Bin.
