I'm currently running vista home prem and wana upgrade to windows 7 home prem.I downloaded windows upgrade advisor and when i run it,it has an error :windows 7 upgrade advisor is not able to contact microsoft server,check internet connection,my internet connection i think is fine!.

 

I have tried installing windows 7 from a disc and in the compatiabilty check it tells me there is a problem with these or to update :A0P6N1E4 IDE CONTROLLER and A87QRRUV IDE CONTROLLER,i'm a pc noob so i tryed 2 update them,says there updated,then i even went as afar as disabling them to see if i could run windows 7 and its goes all the way through installation but at the end the screen goes black,when i restart it says windows 7 installation was unsuccesfull and i'm back to vista:mad:

windows 7 upgrade advisor is not able to contact microsoft server

It could be a server issue on their end. Try again later.

 

Have you disconnected all external devices before installing?

 

Do you have just the one disk? What type of disk is it?
