unsafe activeX control

[Guest nonvsbl]

When I lost my audio, I went to troubleshoot, and I can't use it. I got the

message "activeX control on this page is unsafe".

What page? What is your audio adaptor? What version of XP are you using?

Ask the troubleshooting site that you visited (but neglected to mention)

is using an unsigned AX control. Maybe you don't want to go to that

UNIDENTIFIED site anymore.

Sorry. I got the warning when I tried to access troubleshooter. I have Win XP

pro. Please bear with me, as I am only semi pc literate. I don't know how to

find out what audio adapter I have.

I'm sorry I'm not better at this. It's why I'm here asking you. I really DO

want to access the troubleshooter.....that is what I was trying to do when I

got the warning

On first scan of your "reply", there was no reply. You added you

reply to *my* message rather than show it as your own.

 

 

 

My guess is that you need to reduce local (My Computer) security for AX

controls for local web pages. Go into Internet Options -> Advanced,

scroll down to the Security section, and enable the "Allow active

content to run files on My Computer".
