I was having problems printing because the print was too small. Well, I just

figured out how to get big prints from these messages that we are receiving

here.

Use selection , then right click on the selected area, choose print

preview, then choose, as selected on screen. Then on page fit choose whatever

you think is right, in my case I the biggest I could fit was 125% on one

page.

So, now I figured out how to get prints that are big enough that you don't

have to use a magnify glass on it to read it.

See, I find out something that will help out someone and I print it out for

them. No probs. Maybe I'll get good luck on Monday playing the stock market.

I'm a day trader so that's why I can be upset easier than most. Most day

traders on the stock exchange need a vacation or to stop trading for a few

days. Thank god for week-ends.

Glad you have your computer all figured out now!

 

OT :

 

Concerning the stock market...

 

Visa (the credit card company) recently went public.

Luckily I got in on the ground floor and have made a few bucks..

 

I'm sure it's got a way to go before it plateau's .

(Have a look at Master Card's history.)

 

But I have only mentioned this as a point of interest.

 

 

BTW: It takes a very strong stomach to play the stock market properly!

Right, and we have the futures market to blame for much of the high cost of

Oil and other commodities.. good idea, invest in businesses which provides

credit, when many are being crushed under credit debt... make money off

their pain....

but a credit card company such as Visa is simply a clearing house...so to

speak

and simply makes money on every transaction. Visa itself does not issue

credit.

If used properly , a credit card company offers most people a valuable

service and most people realize that

a portion of their payment is for convenience.

 

No person with any modicum of sense would use a credit card company

as a lending institution.

 

Folks who require a loan should go to a bank or credit union

where today's credit rates are at a record low.

 

Though I do in fact use a credit card...I have *never* paid one cent of

interest

and that is for one simple reason. (I am sure I have mentioned this before.)

 

If I cannot afford something. ***I do not buy it***

 

Period.

 

Of course...the purchase of a house or car would be a few good reasons to

make a purchase

that would require financing...

but no one would use a credit card for that.

 

Anyway...this is way too OT even for someone like me who always seems to

stray way to far from

the topic.

in the past...it was not with any degree of frequency...

so I am unfamiliar with anyone named "Dan" who has posted here before.

 

As to being on a fixed income...

at least you are not in the predicament most of my friends are faced with:

that of being on a "broken" income.

Well I am not a betting man...

but my father always told me never to wager any more money than I could

afford to loose.

 

I went to Las Vegas once and lost an entire dollar in the 5 cent slot

machine and got sick

to my stomach. So a $20 bet is a bit too rich for my blood!

Same here, Philo. Trust me. (Like you, I'm a bit "tight". :-)

And I *always* pay off my credit card in full each month. (If I

couldn't, it would scare the geebies out of me - old school) I just use

it for convenience over carrying cash around. Or even checks.

Yep!

 

We try to take one nice vacation a year...

but other than that I usually just purchase necessities...

though I went crazy last year and purchased a few extra tee-shirts!!!

 

I've still got that wild side in me for such an old man <G> !

Yes, it's me. And to the meds, I've had my share and enough is enough.

Ok, lets do a history rundown.

I stopped drinking Aug. 9th 2001, and stopped smoking about a year before

that.

My friend had just gone into the hospital with liver problems Aug. 8th

2001. He was swelling up, and I had a swollen ankle. I had just finished my

4th Heinken of a six-pack when I got the news back about his liver scarring,

he actually told me he had liver cancer, but no just a scar or two on his

liver it turned out. That scared enough to stop on the 4th beer and then

drink the other 2 Aug. 9th. That was it. Oh, wait. Three times after that

date I drank booze. These 3 times I was really pissed off. The first time I

smoked 1 cigarette and drank 1 Heinken. Same thing the next time, 1 cigarette

and 1 Heinken. The third and last time I ever drank, which probably was a

year after the Aug 9th date, I decided to drink Mike's Hard Lemonade, 2 of

them, and I didn't smoke a cigarette this time, just the 2 malt liquors. I

think they're malt liquors. Anyways, I had such a hangover the next morning

it cured me of drinking once and for all.

Did I go to AA meetings after that to make sure I didn't drink again? NO, I

didn't need those losers in my life.

I had one drunk driving some years back and to get my license back I had to

go to AA meetings twice a week for 6 weeks or so. Senate Bill 38 or something

close to that milk job. So, a couple about 35 to 45 years of age both got

their AA birthdays one day while I was there. Not more than 5 minutes after

the meeting ended, I went to a liquor store and saw the lady who had just had

her 7th birthday and her husband his 8th birthday of alcohol free. She was

buying a bottle of MD. MD is fortified wine. What a crack of BullS... those

AA members are.

I worked maybe 10 years ago in the winerys in the San Joaquin Valley in

Fresno. At Gallo during the crushing season they hired 60 to 90 guys out of

1500 applications, and I was one of the ones hired. The year before at United

Vintners Winery we were crushing raisins for high proof alcohol in order to

fortify wines. One day the guy who worked over the raisins didn't show up. I

took his place. I had this 2 foot diameter hose I used to squirt the raisins

down into the crusher. We were making 198 proof. There was blue skinny pipe

that had a lock on it. That pipe was where the 198 proof ran to the end

result. The only person who had a key to that pipe was the main foreman. The

sub foreman was the one who told me about what was running through the pipe.

Ok, enough about MD and fortified wines.

Yep, it is he. He goes to hole here whenever he escapes, it seems. Be

prepared at any time to make way for the men in white coats, big nets, etc.

 

Careful, he has a siren's charm. I have to block his every appearance for my

own sanity.
