Facebook birthdays

I have just noticed that Facebook has posted all my "friends" birthdays into my Google calendar.

 

Does anyone now how to delete these or at least how to stop anymore being added?

 

I have searched through Facebook but cannot see anything about this.

Ooooops, sorry. this only appears to have happened on my smartphone calendar and not on my PC.
