Jonny5isalive Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi, I've got the above printer and model. It's started flashing it's lights and says paper is jammed. I've looked inside, took the back plate out to check and can't see any paper stuck. Tried switching it off and on again. Still the same. Uninstalled it and reinstalled and still the same error code comes up. I've tried Canons website but can't find any info on error code 6000 The site won't let me download a user manual either. Any help is much appreciated. Many thanks, Jon-Paul. Quote
DSTM Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Hi.Jonny5isalive. You can download the manual from here. http://www.devicemanuals.com/guide/Multifunctional/Canon/Canon-Multifunction-Injet-PIXMA-MP510-User-Guide-TkRBNU1qQT.html Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Jonny5isalive Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I've rang canon and they say error code 6000 is a "fatal error" and means the printer is mullered. They suggest disconnecting the printer from the mains for 20 mins to clear the internal memory. Will try this and update as to how it goes. If it doesn't work then I guess a new printer is in order.
