I have an HP touchscreen laptop and during use the mouse pointer sometiems vanishes.

I have checked the setting that removes the mouse when typing and this is switched off.

i tried updating to Windows 7 and it was fine for several weeks but has started doing this again.

I run a SCS cuing system and when the pointer goes off screen then the keys do not activate and I have to bring the pointer back in manually but it sometimes vanishes again in a couple of seconds.

My problem is I don't know if this is a pc problem or software problem.

Can anyone help please?

Hi and welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help.

Touch screen technology is still fairly new and it has brought some odd problems with it and I suspect this is related to it. I know very little about the touch screen and haven't even had chance to try one yet, but can it be turned off so that you are back to the old methods of keyboard and mouse? If so does the mouse pointer still keep vanishing?

Hopefully one of our weekday members may know more.
