qwertex Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 I currently am running a NVIDIA GeForce 7350 LE on my HP-Pavilion GC674AA-ABA m8120n The card is starting to burn out with the newer generations of games, and I'd like to make an upgrade to something that can run at least at a moderate framerate. I don't know what exactly I'm looking for, except that I'd like to spend no more than $200 if at all possible, however if it comes to it, I don't mind spending a little more. I figure some system specs might come in helpful so: OS - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Processor - 2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad RAM - 3GB Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 7350 LE Really what I'm asking for is: a) If I have the option to make an upgrade b) If so, a recommendation on a suitable card If there's anything else you need feel free to ask :D Quote

KenB Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Hi, Your motherboard, if I am correct, has one PCIe x 16 slot. With this you should have a wide variety of options to "upgrade". Take a look here: Best Graphics Cards For The Money: November 2010 : November Updates Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! john111 Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 well its hard to say without you knowing your motherboard but ifs its a recent PC in the last 2 - 3 years then it probably has a PCI express slot. I would=have a look in your PC first though. for $200 i would say either a GTX 460 1GB or a ATI HD 6850 1GB Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Before you even consider replacing the GPU, you need to let us know what the wattage of the PSU is......... Most of these 'budget' PCs are built around the main components and any GPU which it came with is probably at the limit of the PSU Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
