Guest David Brown Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 I just setup and deployed a Windows 2003 R2 SP2. When I try to run adminpak.msi it says tells me that it can only be installed on Windows XP......and Windows Server 2003. This is a Windows Server 2003. What needs to be done to allow the installation on this server? -David

Guest David Brown Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Re: Cannot install Admin Pak on Windows 2003 Server It the installation pack is from Microsoft and is on a share drive if I understand your question correctly. It is the same adminpak.msi I used to install on my XP SP2 workstation. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 Re: Cannot install Admin Pak on Windows 2003 Server Hello David, You have to use the version from SP2, that by default is located under C:\windows\system32. In the run line on the server type adminpak.msi and just press enter. That one should be the right/actual installable version for the server. Also for the client copy it from \\servername\windows\system32 Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > It the installation pack is from Microsoft and is on a share drive if > I > understand your question correctly. Please download the latest adminpak.msi from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=86B71A4F-4122-44AF-BE79-3F101E533D95&displaylang=en It should install now. -- Jabez Gan Microsoft MVP: Windows Server http://www.msblog.org "David Brown" <dbrown@tvores.com> wrote in message news:uJQTHjHtIHA.748@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >I just setup and deployed a Windows 2003 R2 SP2.
