Do you have another account to try to logon with and see if it will occur

with it too?

"Setupapi.dll file appears to be corrupt" error message when you try to

upgrade to Windows XP

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822801

See if you been disallowed from having control on your system by opening a

run command and type in:

regedit click [OK] locate this Key and see the entries there and post them

back in your next post:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policcies =

HTH.
