Wondering if anyone can help ...

when i do a disc clean up, you tick the boxes of the files you wish to delete, which is fine, and i have ticked all of them.

I click ok.. the clean up runs, but when i come back i still have 4.41kb of offline webpages, which i really cannot remove.

Hi BunniLeigh. That's normal to have that amount, after running Disc Cleanup.

Absolutely nothing to be concerned about.:)

Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.

4kb would be the size of some small text files. Vista and 7 store some small files in strange places. That's about the size of index.dat files that Windows uses. It's barely enough to create a blank notepad file. I would not be concerned.

As explained:

They really are nothing to worry about, plus some files may not be able to be removed.

TFC will attempt to remove any files that need a reboot (it's not always necessary) you could try that:

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

  • Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  • Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.
