newby Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 Hi , I am new here, and v new to PC building. I have just booted my new creation up, installed Windows XP, & got everything working with one exception. Despite loading up the support disc for my 3-in-1 printer/scanner, (usb connected), it will not print. On my Asrock G31M-S R2.0 motherboard there is a header called a 'Print Port Header' - do I have to link this to anything to enable my printer? Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 You need to unplug the printer - run the disk and then when It asks connect the printer, if you need to have a look on the manufacturers website for the latest drivers/software Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
Lexmark 36 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I agree, the disk should really be your useful guide in letting your printer function fully. Quote
michelsmith Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Printer Problem Ensure that the cables are properly connected; you need to ensure that your printer is properly connected, and plugged in, and also the cable is accurately connected to the computer as well. Check the power; make sure that the printer’s power is switched on, ensure that all the computer necessary computer components are also turned on. Make sure that the hardware is properly plugged in, and also turned on. Apply troubleshooting. A troubleshooter is a tool, which is generated automatically and which can easily fix the problems that occur with your system. Thus, if you are coming across different issues related to your printer, then you can consult the troubleshooter. You require driver applications to run your hardware devices. Make sure that the drivers are not outdated, corrupt, or incompatible, resulting in disrupting the communication between the printer and the computer. Always make sure that you are making use of the most recent and latest device drivers, and also that are compatible with your system requirements and specifications, as this can be extremely useful in resolving printer issues.
