Do I have SP3 Installed or Not?

Yesterday morning I completed the download of SP3 and installed it.

All indications were that the installation was completed OK.

This morning I went to Microsoft Update.

After scanning my computer the program reported that I should install

WindowsXP SP2.

How do I tell if I have SP3 installed or not?

MU offered SP2 ? To see if SP3 is installed, go to Start > Run > type in

 

winver

 

Click OK or press Enter

Next to Version, after all the numbers, it should say 'Service Pack3 '

Or, go to Start > Run > type in

 

msconfig

 

Click OK or press Enter

The System Configuration Utility will now be open.

There should be 7 tabs present now, the newest one being ' Tools '

Under ' Tool Name ' click on About Windows

Now click the Launch button at the bottom.

 

*Click the Cancel button* to close the System Configuration Utility.
