StyL3 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Recently after I had started playing 'Sudden Attack', I got addicted, but I wasnt really enjoying it because of my poor graphics. At first I thought it was RAM problem, but after I upgraded my 700mb RAM to 2GB RAM with slight improvement. I knew it was the Graphic Card's problem. So now I need help from you guys. My Specs: Acer Aspire SA85 DDR400-2GB RAM 64mb SiS Mirage Graphics Intel Pentinium D 2.80GHz 1 8x VGA slot 3 PCI v2.2 slots (AND YES IT IS A REALLY OLD COMPUTER) Please And Thanks Quote
KenB Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) Hi, I assume your SIS graphics is onboard ? You only have a choice between PCI slots and 1 AGP slot. PCI Express ( PCIe ) would have given you a much wider (and faster) choice. VGA will be the better option for you. Take a look here : Amazon.co.uk: Computers:agp card: Computers & Accessories You are somewhat limited with VGA but the link should give you some ideas. If your Power Supply Unit is a basic 250Watt you may, depending on your choice of card, need to upgrade it. KenB Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Senior Moment !!! For VGA (my last post) read AGP. If you don't have an AGP slot then you are limited to PCI cards.
