Setting up POP3/SMTP server yeilds disappointing results

Okay so I'm setting up a mail server using 2003 server and I can't get it to

work properly

Every time I set up to get my mail from the server in outlook I get the

following error after hitting the "send/receive" button:

Task 'THETEST - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92): Your em-mail server

resjected your login. Verify your user nae and password in your account

properties under Tools, click email accounts. The server responded: ERR

Logon Failure"

I know I'm not typing in the password wrong so what could the problem be? I

can see in the pop3 manager that the mail accounts are getting messages. I

just wanna know why I keep gettig errors in outlook for that.
