Guest Teneo Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Re: SP3 Big Al, please be aware depending on OP NG reader they may not be able to search NG. If 'just' setup OE then it will only download first 300 headers, depending on popularity of NG unless they downloaded all messages may not find anything... Would like to add... be wary of SP3 issues ... if pc from OEM and have AMD processor they may have used an Intel image to name one of the issues. Its great for searching articles. Someone had to point me there. I should have included it in my suggestion to bill.

Two points: 1. I don't have any problem with anyone not searching the newsgroups, and asking a question that's been asked before, even asked before many times. Not everybody know how to search newsgroups. 2. That said, *everyone* has the ability to search the newsgroups. That's true whether you use Outlook Express, some other newsreader, or the awful web-based interface, and regardless of how you configure your newsreader. That's because, far and away the best way to search the newsgroups is using googlegroups advanced group search at http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=& > If 'just' setup OE then it will only download first 300 headers, depending > on popularity of NG unless they downloaded all messages may not find > anything... > > Would like to add... be wary of SP3 issues ... if pc from OEM and have AMD > processor they may have used an Intel image to name one of the issues. > > > "Big Al" <BigAl@nowhere.com> wrote in message > news:W%IWj.7976$Uz2.3998@trnddc06... > > Bill Cunningham wrote: > >> I have MCE XP SP2 where can I download SP3? > >> > >> Bill > >> > >> > > You really have to learn to search these groups.
