stand-a-lone to non-stand-a-lone

i have a non-stand-a-lone game called morrowind 3 the elder scrolls and my new laptop does not have a cd drive but i have both cds that the game came with. does any body know of a program that can help? i have heard of one but i don't know the name.:) Edited December 2, 2010 by jayden-lee

I think most laptops come with optical drives these days. You might have a netbook instead of a laptop. Netbooks not having an optical drive is indeed a fallback. One possible solution is to get an external optical drive. Seriously it might come in handy for other reasons too.

 

If you do have a netbook I hope the game specs are low because a netbook specs are usually dismal.

I'm not into playing games on any type of computer, so don't know too much about this subject. However, as far as I can tell from doing a little reading, you would need to buy an external CD/DVD player.

 

Is your new computer a Netbook? If it is it probably uses onboard graphics. This may be another area of concern for you, as the onboard graphics will not perform as well as a graphics card.

Morrowind is a very old game and very low specs, You need to transfer the data from the CD to another media such as external HDD or a flash drive, you normally have to use specific programs to allow you to do this though (as it could be used to commit piracy)

i found it is a netpad but i would like to find out more about this usb idear..
