Can someone tell me how I can change the location of where Windows 2003

server update files get placed!. I also want to specify where the old files

get placed after an update. My primary are drive is getting full because of

all of the patches and updates, for which get placed under the windows

folder. I would like these files to go to the D: drive instead. Also how

do I change where automatic download files get stored.

Thanks,

Re: Change location of Windows update files

Hello James,

If you are sure that you will not uninstall a patch/service pack you can

safely delete the uninstall folders, except the $hfmig$ folder. If you still

will keep them, move them to a different location and in case of an uninstall

just move it back to the default location. Also you can safely delete the

content of C:\windows\softwaredistribution\download after installing the

latest updates.

Best regards
