The internet is awash with information, and most people here voraciously ingest a daily diet of Channel 9, Scoble or whatever.

Kevin Moore pointed me to a brilliant but rather old article entitled Why I Hate Frameworks. Seeing at I'm currently grappling with justification for using patterns and practices, this article had a particular resonance. Couple this with Rico Mariani's Cycles in Computer Science, or Am I Ancient? you really do start to see (for me at least) that software changes do not happen overnight.

Have you an article, blog, thread that has rotated your thinking on a particular subject or technology that people may be unaware of? If you do please link it to this thread.

The only rule I guess, is that it has to be at least a year old. This can include anything from design, security, beautiful code or whatever, just as long as it's impact on your thinking or understanding of a particular subject was rotational.

Obviously it would be most welcome if you could decorate the link, or whatever with some personal comments as to why it is important (although this is not always a requirement).
