Guest RGA Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I am running SBS 2003 SP1 and have recently noticed in the logs that I am getting event ID 1020 that states I have 0 IP addresses left to hand out from my scope. I run a network with only about 20 clients and had the scope set to give out 100 IPs. I have extended the scope and I don't get that error anymore, but upon further investigation I have realized that the "type" of ip addresses taking up all the leases are DHCP/BOOTP. Has anyone seen this or know what may be causing it as I can't seem to figure why all my ips keep getting leased. Thank in advance!

Click on the advanced tab for your scope and select DHCP only. Should take care of it. You've likely got something on your network trying to use bootp. -- /kj

Do note however that ANY computer acting as an RRAS (dial or VPN) server on your network (within a subnet covered by the DHCP scope) can request these blocks of addresses. > "Herb Martin" <news@learnquick.com> wrote in message > news:%23Sud$K2tIHA.1936@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> >> "RGA" <blahATblahDOTblah> wrote in message >> news:OTE4191tIHA.5096@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >>> Thanks for the response, but how might I check this? By default SBS RRAS will grab 10 or 11? addresses from the scope. In the address leases you have two columns of interest."Type" and "Unique ID" If you can post a couple of these as examples, perhaps we can make more sense of what's happening.
