connecting my laptop to a pc

Hi

Can anyone help me. I Have a laptop and don't want to sell it. But I download movies from ARES and wish to watch them on my TV, but my laptop dosn't have the 3 coloured connectors, I have tried using the pin connector but to no avail.

Can I connect my laptop to a PC via a D-Link type hub, without screen, key board or mouse, basicly use it as an addition storage unit, but with the coloured connectors.

Then use my aptop as the brain, access the movies and play them to my TV?

there may be a way to stream the data to your pc, but other than that, i don't know.
