Sony Vaio - replacement battery issue

I have recently purchased a replacement battery for my Sony Vaio. I have followed the instructions regarding copying the driver onto the C: drive and that is now installed.

I now get a message saying "Battery capacity(0%) too low. A fully charged battery must be installed"

Any clues?

I have Windows 7 installed.

I do not own a Sony but have 2 laptops and never needed a driver for a battery. Was this an off brand replacement?

Might seem a stupid question, but why did you replace the battery.

 

No charge, short run time, not fully charging?

I replaced the battery because of a very short run time. It is an 'off brand' replacement

Yes it is an 'off brand' replacement as you call it but was specified as compatible with my model

I have the same problem after inserting new battery and starting program which was in CD with battery. Can anybody help, pls ?
