Firstly, my computer's OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and it is installed on a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.

I have installed VMware Player, for safely testing programs on my computer. I have installed various operating systems but they have never been 64bit.

When on VMware player I tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (same copy that my computer's running) I run into problems. The OS installs fine but when it restarts to finish the installation proccess, I get this message from the Windows Boot Manager -

What stands out for me is at the bottom of the error message how it says " Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode."

I have did searching on google and found something about changing Virtualization settings in the Bios. I checked the bios and found nothing related to Virtualization.

So what can I do to fix this, do I need a different virtual machine program, or is this something that can't be fixed. Help would be very appreciated.

This is how i got mine working

Assuming you have a 64 bit machine -on the VMWare player go to the settings area under the hardware tab > choose processors > then click on the Virtualize intel VT-x/EPT and AMD-V/RVI check box. I have attached a pic to help.
