windows 7 windows 7 unable to find any updates after factory reset

Hi,

 

I have an HP Compaq laptop at Windows 7. I know Win 7 is unsupported.

 

I want to keep the HP laptop on Win 7.

 

I did a factory reset on the HP Compaq and now I can't begin to download any updates. I get a Code 080072EFE error.

 

I did another factory reset. No difference.

 

I've downloaded windows update troubleshooter but it didn't find anything.

 

I tried to apply patch KB3138612 but it wouldn't let me.

 

I can't access a Win 7 ISO image as I have an HP image that is on a disc volume and the key is only 20 characters long.

 

I need a 25 chars for the ISO.

 

I also tried to restore from an image from another Win 7 laptop , but that failed.

 

Does anyone know how can I get all the existing important updates downloaded and applied?
