Where is sp3?

I downloaded the sp3 update from Microsoft, then suspended the

install in order to do a system restore point. Where is the install file

located, or, do I have to do the WindowsUpdate download etc. all over

again? TIA.

Usually the update page checks to see if you already have the download and

then runs it.

Why did you stop it? The installer sets a restore point for you

automatically. If you watch the messages you will see when it does it.

Even if you set one before you start the installer will set another one

anyway.

The Automatic Updates is configured to download and install

everyday at 4:00pm. Thanks PA Bear.

Thanks for reply. I stopped it because the installer suggested I

backup the system first. Then I checked my last backup and it's dated

March 2008. I figured this was a recent enough backup, so, I just

created a restore point instead. Didn't realize one would be set

automatically.

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Automatic Updates has four (4) options:

 

.. Automatic (recommended) Automatically download recommended updates for my

computer and install them

 

.. Download updates for me, but let me choose when to install them

 

.. Notify me but don't automatically download or install them

 

.. OFF

 

Which of the above is selected, Ed?
