Please Help! Graphics card

I turned my pc on one morning and the tower came on but nothing appeared on the screen, and when i turned the monitor off and then back on the power light just goes from green to orange. I thought I may need a new graphics card so I bought one. I installed the card into the PCI slot and plugged the monitor in but it still does the same thing. How do I install the driver if the screen is blank? Please Help Someone!!! It would be MUCH appreciated.

Have you tried your monitor on another computer, or tried a known working monitor on your computer?

Hi, had you been altering the settings for display drivers etc whilst installing your new card? I had inadvertently managed to disable my display adaptors whilst trying to make a pc game work and have a similar problem, advice so far has been to restart in safe mode to see if the display works then? Hope this may be of some help.

As this is an add in card, do you have onboard graphics aswell, have you tried that if you do have it?

 

Does the GPU have more than 1 VGA or DVI port, and have you tried both?

It is not uncommon for one of the ports to die and the other work
