I installed AVG 8.0 professional version on my window XP, with SP2, computer

today. After installing it, I noticed that I cannot sign into my MSN

Messenger 7.0. Plus all my contacts has been lost and some of the setting are

gone. Everything worked prior to my installing the AVG. Has anyone had a

similar problem? I am not sure that the post belongs here, but I could not

find any other place this would go, so I am posting it here. If this is not a

proper place to post this, would someone please let me know where I could

post it, and get some help. If I need to uninstall and reinstall, where would

be a good place to go for the download of 7.5., or the same version of 7.0

would be ok. I have made a request with AVG Tech Service but I'll be lucky if

I can get any answer form them in a week's time judging from my last contact

with them. Thanks

Re: MSN Messenger 7.0

1. You can post your query to this MSN Messenger-specific newsgroup:

microsoft.public.msn.messenger

On the web:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.msn.messenger

In your newsreader:

http://news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.msn.messenger

[i'm not sure MSN Messenger v7.x is still supported.]

2. AVG v7.5 and v7.0 are no longer supported and will cease to automatically

update after 30 May-08.

Re: MSN Messenger 7.0

Thanks Pa Bear. I first installed the 7.0 version, but it would not let that

happen. Instead it made me install the 2008 version which I believe is the

latest. Everything seems to be working ok so far. Thanks so much for your

help.
