SP3 & Start Menu & Mouse

Forgive this post if it is redundant but I think my last post was lost. I

did a clean install of SP3 (nLite integration) and was installing some

programs. I looked at my start menu and saw that it was becoming cluttered

so I right-clicked my mouse to sort the menu and nothing happened. By that I

mean when I put the mouse cursor over an icon or program and rt-clk it I

should get a menu with "sort" as one of the options. I don't get any pop-up

window at all. When I point to a program or a start menu item and try to

drag it from one position on the menu to another I don't see the

icon/program being able to be moved. Any ideas?

Right click on your Start button and select Properties from the menu.

Note: You can also right click on your Taskbar and select Properties from the

menu.

In Taskbar and Start Menu Properties, click on the Start Menu tab.

Hit the Customize button.

If you're using the XP style menu, click on the Advanced tab.

In the Start menu items box, make sure "Enable dragging and dropping" is

checked.

Click OK twice.

If you're using the Classic menu, look in the "Advanced Start Menu options" box

for "Enable dragging and dropping".

Make sure it's checked.

Click OK twice.

Good luck

Re: SP3 & Start Menu & Mouse

First let me say thanks. Of course it worked. Now for the ugly - I thought I

considered myself a sophisticated windows user! Hah - I don't know how I

could have forgotten something so very basic. I had no problem building a

slipstreamed disk incorporating SATA drives and SP3 and installing without a

hiccup but to get flummoxed by something so simple as "sort programs" in my

start menu - well, just once again, thanks.
