File hangs on when clicked on

Hi all,

I have an 80GB IDE drive that is used only for "My Documents". For

some reason anytime I click on any file in this folder, the PC either

locks up or is extremely slow in opening it. Most times I have to do a

hard reboot to get the system working again.

I have run Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-aware, Hijack this, Sophos,

and Micro Trend on line with no problems. I have run MS memory tester

and several hardware tester and again, no problems.

If anyone has any ideas or thoughts to help I would appreciate it.

Since this is my documents, I really need to get these files back to

operational mode.

I d/l the file and ran it, sorry, nothing happened. Any other ideas. I

really hate to have to totally remove all the files on this drive and

then do a copy to put it back on the drive. I am guessing that by

doing this, I will find the file(s) that may be causing this. That is

if it is even a file.
