Aloha all. I forgot my logon password. Fortunately, I use Autologon, so I

can still get on. But I'm concerned about changing my system now. When I try

to delete the password altogether through the control panel, all I get is

the incorrect password error. Is there any way to retrieve the password in

the computer?

Thanks all.

Do this:

- Log on through AutoLogon.

- Click Start / Run / cmd{OK}

- Type this command:

net user "%UserName%" MyNewPassword{Enter}

The new password will now be set to "MyNewPassword". Now

make a note of the password in a safe place . . .

The answer to your direct question is, or most certainly should be, no.

You can't retrieve it from the system. As noted in other replies, you need

to replace it.
