Try looking at Microsoft's PowerToys TweakUI, not sure if it still has the

icon rebuild but it used too.

 

Also, this has nothing to do with Directory Services. It would be best if

you would post this question in the general windows xp newsgroup. I have

copied them in on this.

your suggestion was good for XP and 2k3

but my Server is 2k with GC role

Hope you have another alternate

There are powertoys for that o/s as well. Otherwise I would suggest you try

re-install the latest SP, even if it has already been installed.
