Hello people I've been considering getting a software to do my backups of important files and pictures, especially for this Christmas season ;). I do backup manually using an external hard drive. However I have to do it everytime I do updates on my files. Therefore I've been considerin the online backup and I want you guys to help me choose the best deal on backups.

I've found 3 option I've been google searching and they are the Following:

Droxb ox

Carbonite

Moxy

ZenOK Online Backup

Any suggestions and comments are wellcome

Personally I'm not really up for online backups of important files, especially if there are alot of them. I do use 4 shared.com for a few bits, but thats all. The other thing is tat even with broadband, uploading a large amount of data will take a long time as upload speed is much slowr than download speed for the most part.

Have you thought about utilising an external drive with a program like Cobian Backup, that combination has worked well for me in the past

It would all depend on the size of the data being backed up, are you backing up the whole OS and programs/files etc or just your files and folders.

You could go down the software route of Acronis etc that takes a snapshot of your whole drive and backs it up to external media (CD/DVD or HDD)

If you are just backing up your own files that you cannot lose, then I personally would just work out how much there is and depending on the size either use DVD-+RW disks or start looking to invest in BluRay if the size of the files is high.. :)

Either that or get a server like me, that does it all for you :D
