Wired Connection Issue

Hi,

 

Im using a network cable from the router to my room for the internet as the wireless signal is a bit weak. This cable works fine on the Xbox but doesnt seem to work for the laptop.

 

It connects fine and Windows says the connection is working but when i try to go to a webpage, Google for example, it just says "waiting for Google to respond" and nothing happens.

 

Ive tried everything; updating the drivers for the connection, resetting the router even got to the point where I did a factory reset of the laptop but nothing has worked.

 

Please Help!
