hi all,

i am new to this forum bu i am on many other forums.

This is one problem that me or any other forums can not solve.

Ok i built a new system from scratch.

Amd phenom II 965 be

asus m4a88t-m am3

corsair 1600mhz dominator 2x2gb

xfx 650w core edition

asus gtx 460

antec 902

wd 500gb hdd

liteon odd

windows 7 x64

I built the system up but could not install windows. i soon found out that if i removed one memory module it would install.

the operating system was on and the system was running, but with only one stick of memory.

So i put in the other module and it sees the 4gb but gets to the windows logo and restarts.

i have 4 slots

blue a1/b1

black a2/b2

i have tried one module in all four slots and it runs fine, then i swapped the module for the other one and tried that in all four slots and that works fine.

the memory is phenom II memory so i should not have any problems.

from this point i have tried to manualy set the voltage, timings and speed but still no luck.

so i started to return parts as i was told by asus it sounds like the motherboard divider, so this is what i did. they sent a new one out built the system up but still the same problem.

Next i spoke to the shops technical support and they said it might be the memory controller on the cpu, so i sent this back.

Today i phoned the company and they have tested the cpu with one, two and four medules and it works fine so it is not that.

I have now ran out of ideas and dont know what to do, i have never had this problem before. any ideas will be great and all help is welcome what can i do now.

This is my second set of memory too and has been tested before sent out so it cant be that. thanks

Hello mate.

From info that u supply, i can say that your memory is way too fast for your motherboard and cpu.

So what u need to do is to get slower memory, remember you need buy memory that can simply keep up wit the rest of the system.

AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz

May i suggest this one: http://www.bmcdigital.co.uk/catalog/view/corsair-dominator-2-x-2gb-ddr3-8500-1066mhz-ram-for-pc?froogle

Thats all i could think off at the moment. i hope it helps.
