hi ,

we are using windows server 2003 sp1 with xp client sp2 domain. we are

facing one issue is that we try to implement dhcp server for two different

ip range e.g 172.30.1.X and 172.30.2.X. currently we are using 172.30.1.X

network through out. we create dhcp server and define two scope here like

172.30.1.x and 172.30.2.x .but now problem is that our xp client machine are

able to get automatic ip address from dhcp server of range 172.30.1.x. No

single machine is able to get ip of different range e.g 172.30.2.x . Please

help me out for this issue.

Re: DHCP server

Hello ravinder,

Is the scond subnet existing? The clients will ony get ip from the scope

in the newtwork where the server resides. If you have a second subnet and

the router forwards DHCP requests ot you use a DHCP relay in the second subnet

to the DHCP server, you should be able to get an ipaddress from the second

subnet.

Best regards
