Laura J Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Hi all, Im wanting to restore my PC to factory standard. Ive backed up all the files i need to keep, removed all periferals. Im wanting to start from scratch again, hense the restore to factory standard! Got the book out that came with my PC it says to press F11 key until system recovery starts then advanced options etc but it wont work!!! It just starts up as normal!! Another option is to go thru the vista start menu, into All programs then PC help & tools then recovery manager BUT i cant see PC help and tools in the 'all programs' area! I have done a system recovery ages ago and can vaguely remember having the same problem but cant recall how i fixed it!! My system has a recovery partition rather than disks! Quote
Jelly Bean Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Hello there. Have you tried F8 key on startup? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
bugsy_ Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 When trying to boot from CD/DVD remember at the point of it booting up press the F11 or F8 key rapidly until you get to the boot menu, then select boot from CDROM Drive or something along those lines. or To get into your Recovery Partition Press F11 or F8 as above without CD/DVD Quote "It takes an intelligent fool to make things bigger and more complex......
