Jelly Bean Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I see no reason why this card will not run in your machine other than you are running a basic power supply of wich wattage is not listed........ I would go for a compatable PSU of around 500 watts...... Its not always as simple as just fitting a newer upgraded card you have to take in your power supply and do you need a new more powerfull one...... Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
JoelBD Posted January 3, 2011 Author Posted January 3, 2011 Thank you, I am not sure on what wattage my pc is, how would I find out? Quote
Synapse Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Nvidia suggest minimum 450W with two supplementary 6 pin connectors. Your unit won't be up to it, go with JB's suggestion. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 Quote

JoelBD Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 im sure of what wattage to buy but just not sure if it will come with all leads and wires needed to power all the components in my pc. Quote
Dalo Harkin Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 The other thing you need to check is that these newer GPUs are pretty big often a foot long or more and can take up as much as 3 of the slots on the back of the PCI slots. If you are using any PCI add in cards, you need to check that they will fit Just make sure that the PSU is ATX 2.2 compliant and it will have a 24pin ATX and an 8 and 4 pin ATX (the rest is just the amount of MOLEX and SATA connectors) The 8pin PCI-E adapters normally come with the GPU :) Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
