This is a repost of my question which somehow ended up in a Mac newsgroup.

I am running a windows 2003 network, however I have an Exchange 2003 server

Re: dynamic disks question

This is a quote from the Server 2003 Help:

Once converted, a dynamic disk will not contain basic volumes (primary

partitions or logical drives), nor can it be accessed by MS-DOS, Windows 95,

Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT, or Windows XP Home

Edition operating systems. Dynamic disks can only be accessed with Windows

2000, Windows XP Professional, or the Windows Server 2003 family of

operating systems.

I went to Help and typed in: convert basic, and then chose Help Topic #2.

There's a lot of good info in there that you should take a look at.

Re: dynamic disks question

Thanks for the response. I also think now my concerns were justified. I

think I will use the 2nd drive as a straight backup rather than mirror.
