Test page printed after each print sent to the printer

Every time I print a page on my HP1220c printer I get what I think is a test

page printed after the one I want.

My red in is not showing but for what I'm printing that doesn't matter.

OS is XP.

I deleted the printer, rebooted and then added the printer back (I let XP

search and find the printer) but that did not fix it.

I've looked at the printer's properties but can't find anything that seems

like it would cause the extra page to be printed.

Do you know what night be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Hi Aaron,

Are you sure it isn't a Separator page? Checked the Advanced tab in the

Printer Properties and click the "Separator page" button.

I've checked and the field is blank. I assume that means none. Besides the

page is not blank.

I wonder if the printer knows a color is empty and is showing me that?

Thanks

Have you tried replenishing the color to see if the problem disappears?

What exactly does the "test" page state? Is the same every time?

Re: Test page printed after each print sent to the printer

First line is:

HP Deskjet

Next line has a black rectangle

Next line has a blue rectangle

I suspect that the blue rectangle would be followed by red and yellow ones

except the cartridge is empty.

Then lines of black squares and lines of lines

Thanks

Then check with the HP site and see if that's the way the printer makes

you aware of cartridges being low. My Epson pops up a dialog box to

warn me.
