kevh Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hi Just wondering if any one had any sugestions as to why or what to check to get OL2007 up to speed again. Rest of Pc and Progs working fine even opening messages is ok . Its when i go from say inbox to sent or go from mail to tasks or calender it takes 3-4 secs which isnt a great deal but was almost instant and gets very annoying :( Might have to reinstall but any suggestions would be good to try first. Cheers Kev Happy New Year by the way !!!!! Quote Home Pc: Intel i5 - 4460 3.20 ghz 8gb Kingston Hyper-X Fury Dual-DDR3 1600MHz Windows 10 64bit HomeEVGA 960 GTX SSC 2Gb GDDR 5 DX12Corsair VS430watt PSU250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD24" Benq Led screen Work Pc: Quad Q9550 2.83ghz4gb XMS2 DDR2 800mhzAsus P5QL Mobo Windows 7 PremiumPalit GTS250 1GB ddr3 450watt FSP PSU640Gb WD Caviar Blue HD22" Samsung Lcd (1680x1050)
bugsy_ Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Are you using addins for MS OFFICE 2007 as sometimes this can lead to it running slow or when opening documents and hanging. If so try and disable your addins then enable them one by one to see if any particular addin is causing you this issue. maybe this what is causing your issue, i know its slightly different to what i have mentioned but its worth a shot. Try using your MS Office 2007 CD to perform a repair instead of re installing it first as it could be something simple. DSTM Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 After trying Bugsy's good advice, uninstall MS Update KB2412171. This patch is known to be causing slowdowns in OL2007. This patch was from MS around the 15th Dec 2010. Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
DSTM Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I just realized Starbuck has already posted on this Update. http://extremetechsupport.com/forum/computing-news/11072-latest-outlook-2007-update-causing-issues-mass-recall.html#post72695 Quote Confidence, is the feeling I get, moments before I stuff something up.
Starbuck Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 I just realized Starbuck has already posted on this Update. No harm in mentioning it again though. It may be what the problem is. Quote Member of:UNITE
