Guest Christos Kritikos Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Hello, does anyone know the difference between OEM & FULL licenses? I am looking at Windows Server 2008 Standard. I find both OEM and FULL for almost the same price (OEM slightly cheaper). I am trying to figure out what the difference is. thanks christos

OEM can be slightly different (Dell apparently wrote some of their own DLLs for SBS2003, according to an MS tech with whom I worked) I always prefer retail or open license. Much more flexible.

You can not (legally) move it to a different server later. The full license does not have that restriction. -- /kj
