Since this is not a windows issue, I suggest you speak to Hp. they do have a

web page and you should have a desktop icon that enables you to reach them.

Angela, do not listen to sgopus. Someone will most likely try to answer you.

sgopus is just a rude person who has nothing to offer except rudeness. I

once had a dog named sgopus, I wonder if that's him?

sgopus' rudeness aside, you should have restore disks that Hp's setup

instructions would have suggested you make when you 1st bought the computer.

Did you make them?

Here is the link for the recovery instructions. Use this is you don't have

your restore disks. Scroll down to "Recovering during startup" on the web

page. By the way, it's F10, not F12.

Go into BIOS then look for the "F" key for "Default Settings" There

may also be an "F" key for ie; "Best" settings. Good luck, Angela.

Hi Angela,

If you just want to reset the default settings in your BIOS, press F1

after your computer is turned on.

If you want to reinstall everything the way it was originally when new,

press F10 as suggested by others and the link provided. NOTE: this will

remove everything you have saved to the hard drive; photos, music files,

bookmarks/favorites, etc. MAKE A BACKUP FIRST.

Simply follow the recovery instructions provided by the computer

manufacturer in the manual that accompanied the computer, or from the

manufacturer's web site.

Remember, the first time you turned on that HP Pavilion, you were

prompted to create the necessary Recovery disks. So, basically, all you

need do is just pull those out of storage and boot the computer from them.

No doubt, BC but a helluva lot to read/open just to reset to default.

No? :-)
