No signal to monitor.

I'm a newbie so any help would be good.

My tower is an Acer Aspire Sa90-LB7H, operating on Windows Vista Home Premium.

My ViewSonic monitor is saying No signal then going straight to stand by.

I've disconnected everything and reconnected but am getting no where.

My keyboard isn't lighting up but the mouse is.

Tried to go into safe mode by pressing F8 but still get no signal.

Any advice would be great.

Thought other people may have had the same issue. Or is it just because I'm a newbie that no one has replied???

There is not always someone on line to help.

 

If you have more than one monitor connection at the back of the tower then try that, some have onboard and add in cards, onboard is near where the USB ports are at the back and add in is further down.

 

Some add ins have more than 1 port so again try the other as it is not uncommon for one port to go

Just to add, most of us may well be at work during the day or even the full week, so we cannot promise immediate response or even the day after. In my case I can only help at weekends.

However, if Dalo suggestions are not useful, perhaps only one port on the machine.

 

There are two ways to go from here, the first is, if possible to try the monitor on a friends computer, that will of course prove the monitor one way or the other, and of course if friend is willing, try his known to be working monitor on your machine.
