johnD Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi guys =] just replaced my 8800gts with a GTX 460 gs, and the resolution will not go any higher than 1024x768. i can select higher, up to 1400 x 900 but when i click apply, the screen just says mode not supported. Worked fine with the 8800. relevant information: Vista ultimate samsung 19" hdtv (with vga port) currently using a vga cable. tried connecting via hdmi but after the boot screen, nothing displays. i tried using the disk to install the driver for it, but it said access denied when i tried to run the setup for the display driver. i think its installed okay though because i can see all the information for it in dxdiag and when i use the online driver updater on nvidia's website, it says i have the latest driver for my gpu already (260.99). bit of a beefy problem seen as im wandering around my computer at this res with a gaming card :/ thanks in advance :) Quote
Synapse Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 If you haven't already you should fully uninstall the driver, reboot and install the latest driver, reboot and see if it is sorted. Quote
