GTX460 wont display above 1024 x 768

Hi guys =]

just replaced my 8800gts with a GTX 460 gs, and the resolution will not go any higher than 1024x768.

i can select higher, up to 1400 x 900 but when i click apply, the screen just says mode not supported.

Worked fine with the 8800.

relevant information: Vista ultimate

samsung 19" hdtv (with vga port)

currently using a vga cable.

tried connecting via hdmi but after the boot screen, nothing displays.

i tried using the disk to install the driver for it, but it said access denied when i tried to run the setup for the display driver. i think its installed okay though because i can see all the information for it in dxdiag and when i use the online driver updater on nvidia's website, it says i have the latest driver for my gpu already (260.99). bit of a beefy problem seen as im wandering around my computer at this res with a gaming card :/

If you haven't already you should fully uninstall the driver, reboot and install the latest driver, reboot and see if it is sorted.
