Jamey Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 It depends on your Internet connection type. If it comes down the telephone line, the router probably has a built-in modem which means it is required so you can have an Internet connection. You can plug an Ethernet cable (standard network cable) in the back of the router and the other end in your computer's Ethernet network port. Then reboot your computer. If you have cable Internet or a separate modem and router, you can simply unplug your router and plug your Internet cable directly into your computer's USB or Ethernet port. If it's a USB connection, you may need to find your ISP's installation CD and run the setup program. We can give you more specific information if you post back with your Internet connection type, whether you have a router and modem or just a single box and as many details as you can provide. Quote
