My laptop has wireless capability but when I'm at home it is hooked up to

DSL. The baloon that tells me what the status is of the wireless connection

keeps popping up as it changes ( I live in a spot that doesn't get a strong

connection ).

Is there a way to turn it off and then back on when I need it should I take

my computer

somewhere with me?

Thanks for any help you can give.

What laptop? My Dell has Fn+F2 to turn on/off the wireless.

You might find a setting in the wireless manager settings to not display

signal strength. But it depends if you are using Microsoft's wireless

manager or 3rd party manager.

I guess more info is needed to give you more specifics.

Re: wireless connection

Most laptops have a switch to turn off or turn on the wireless on the

fly. Also, you could right-click on the icon in the task bar and select

disable or enable as and when you want to.
