Hi Liveforeverman, welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help

I replaced my faulty power jack

I've not checked the specifications of your computer...but did you solder a new jack in place or install a new daughter board?

Both jobs can be a little tricky..

I thought I knew today...I'll try again tomorrow. :)

It could help if we know why did you replace the power jack, was it because it worked OK but intermittently when power plugged in?

Or was it because it just didn't work at all and you assumed it was the Jack?

If the first, then something may be out of place, or there may even have been some static damage done while working on it. If you were not either well earthed or at least connected to the ground of the laptop static electrical discharge can destroy large numbers of components.

If the second reason, the jack may not have been faulty and the problem may be elsewhere.

If you can explain all the symptoms prior to starting on replacing the jack, as well as as much as possible about what is happening now it will be a lot of help to us to go further.
