I am using Windows XP Professional and I am trying to copy some pictures to a

CD. My drive has recently been giving me this error message when I try to

access the drive with an empty CD in it:

D:/ Is not accessible

Incorrect Function

However, when there is a CD in the drive that has pictures on it the CD is

accessed without a problem.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide.

Are you using any CD Burning software? If so which one?

You cannot drag and drop like a hard drive.

I simply select the pictures I want to copy, choose the copy command and then paste to the CD. This was successful with one CD and then I started receiving the error message I described.

That can't be done without third-party software such as InCD from

Nero.

You have to burn the items.

Are you sure the CD is formatted? If not formatted, you can not write

to it that way. What application are you using to format/write to the

CD? Roxio? Nero? Etc..

Re: CD Drive Problems

Using windows explorer verify the properties of the drive and ensure that on

the recording tab the enable cd burning is checked.
