Over the last 2 months whenever I boot up and connect to the internet, within a half hour or less, I'm disconnected and have to reconnect again. This can go on all day!

I contacted my ISP and they suggested testing the phone line connection, by removing the front plate and connecting direct, which I did to no effect. I also renewed the filters, with no success. I have a Speedtouch modem. My PC is situated in another room away from the main phone line connection. I use a dsl extension cable. It runs under the carpet, but we dont walk over the cable. I'm wondering if the cable might have worn somewhere in its length. I'd really appreciate any advice, please.

Hi Gilli, there can be a few different reasons for this, first of all have you been in touch with BT and asked them to check the line?

Secondly, it could just be a faulty cable and for the price worth trying, but after that it could only be the modem itself.
