Dalo Harkin Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Its component specific as to what you can and can't do. First you need to disassociate the RAM - If you dont know how to do this then dont continue as you are liable to wreck your new MOBO.. I dont mind helping people, but you have to help us help you... What your friend has in his system is irrelevant unless its the exact same MOBO, same CPU and same RAM (which I am guessing its not or you could apply his figures to your OC) Overclocking/Underclocking is easy, but you have to have components that work together, and know the limits/headroom of each of the components.. A guy told me overclocking can fry up ur pc if you overclock to much and Underclock will just make the proccesor slower it wont harm pc at all and bluescreen means that I underclocked to much so the computer cant stand the speed thats why i get bluescreen he says its nothing dangerous just protection what do you say about this :O? Dalo Harkin Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I say leave it as it is at stock speeds :) I help people all the time with overclocking, underclocking is not necessary on any chip. Manufacturers both Intel and AMD provide various chips and sockets so that you dont have to underclock... Overclocking is different as you choose parts that work together to increase the performance, I myself have many systems, one being:- a Q6600 chip that standard runs at 2.4GHz - and I have mine running at 4.0GHz now the reason I do this is because I use the extra speed that the CPU provides for various reasons, in order to get the chip at this speed I need water cooling, to cope with the extra heat.. You should NEVER have to underclock a CPU, due to the fact they are tested by the manufacturer to work at certain tolerences Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.

And then i replaced it with th new one and then i took the Cpu proccesor from the old one and replaced it on the new one and it works perfect everything i wanted works = ) and i can lower fsb etc but one thing i wonder is how much should i overclock the graphiccard without frying up pc? Dalo Harkin Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Don't push it more than 10% if you don't want to fry it Does the MOBO have the exact same chipset as you may get compatibility issues when using the HDD from you old chipset and dropping it into a new one Quote Intel Q6600 @ 4Ghz (Watercooled)Asus P5K premium black pearl4GB OCZ Reaper 8500260GTX Join Free PC Help - Register here Donations are welcome - here PC Build We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. After all, no one knows everything and you may have the answer that someone needs.
